This position is responsible for contributing both to research and knowledge transfer within the FoMD and the University of Alberta by overseeing the operation of the FoMD Cell Imaging Core, supervising a technical staff who train and support users of the facility. Specifically, the position supports research by instructing and assisting users in all aspects of light and electron microscopy, including sample preparation, image acquisition, and data analysis. The position is also responsible for equipment and facility maintenance, the preparation of files required for facility billing, and is the first point of contact for the Core in online research facilities directories. The position also contributes to researcher training in collaboration with other FoMD Cell Imaging Core personnel, through the development and presentation of lectures, practical sessions and workshops.
