    Job Description

    The Advanced Bioimaging Unit (Joint Unit between the Institut Pasteur de Montevideo and Hospital de Clínicas/UdelaR) is inviting applications to fill two positions of Technical Assistant, working 40 hours per week.

    Requirements:

    We seek graduates from computer science (Computer Engineering/Programer/Physics/Mathematics, etc.) with basic knowledge of image analysis, programming, and development of libraries, repositories, and open-access projects. Additionally, familiarity with microscopy (preferably fluorescence and time-resolved/spectral) is desirable. While an MSc or PhD is preferable, it is not a requirement.

    Experience:

    Essential qualifications include:

    Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Python programming. Previous experience in developing libraries for image analysis, documentation, and maintenance of repositories.

    Responsibilities:

    The selected candidates will join the project "PhasorPy: Python library for phasor analysis of FLIM & spectral imaging," funded by the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative under its Essential Open Source Software for Science (EOSS-5) program.

    Their responsibilities will include:

    • Completing assigned tasks in developing code for various image analysis routines using phasor plots on FLIM and spectral images.
    • Participating in UBA training and courses.
    • Taking part in technological development activities of the UBA.
