Description

Global BioImaging offers an international job shadowing program that gives the opportunity to technical and managerial staff to visit imaging facilities across the globe and learn from their peers.

Job shadowing is a "on-the-job" learning opportunity. Essentially, imaging facility shadowing involves working with another experienced member of staff in a different facility who might have longer experience, provide open user access, operate a different set of imaging technologies, and so on. This experience helps the participants to the program to learn new aspects related to user access, quality management, software tools, image data storage and analysis, facility organization or the latest technologies in the field. The program allows both the hosting facilities and their guests to exchange experiences and ideas. It also has the added value to support networking and prepare possible future collaborations between imaging infrastructures.

Global BioImaging has organised three rounds of job shadowing in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and is now opening a continuous program that allows anyone interested to experience life in a peer imaging facility, to travel internationally and learn from others.

The facilities adhering to the Global BioImaging Job Shadowing are listed in the table below and applications can be submitted by clicking on this link.

General guidelines on the program can be downloaded from the attachments section on the side. They describe the general features of an international job shadowing program in imaging infrastructure facility management and provide some practical information on the procedure to be followed by both the hosting facilities and the shadowing guests.
