We are hiring an Embedded Support Consultant in Boston, MA.
The Embedded Support Consultant (ESC) acts as liaison between ZEISS and the Center for Biological Imaging (CBI) at Harvard. The CBI has chosen ZEISS as a partner to provide cutting edge and current imaging instrumentation, training, support, and service. The main task for the ESC is to help ensure that the Core Facility is successful, the users are well-trained and achieve excellent results on ZEISS instruments which are working as specified. The ESC supports and promotes the use of Zeiss equipment and provides consultancy for all microscopy related requirements of the institute. The ESC develops and maintains strong business relationships with CBI staff, leading researchers within the faculty, as well as visiting researchers and collaborators. The ESC lives the Zeiss brand and value proposition.
In the Technical Training part of the role, the ESC plans, updates and delivers Technical Training for ZEISS High-End systems and technologies (LSM, Elyra, Lightsheet, Lattice Lightsheet, Automation and related software) as well as Core Facility related training for PASS Specialists and Account Managers. Technical Training includes Theory, Product, and Application Training. The ESC supports special activities such as Customer Demonstrations, Applications Support, Product Launches, Exhibits, Workshops, etc. as needed.

CBI Metrics (Instrument Utilization, Membership, Uptime) Number of successful technical training courses and sales support activities
Experience & Educational Requirements:
Requires BSc, PhD or similar degree in physics, biology, or related sciences. Extensive knowledge of microscopy, image analysis and applications in bioscience research microscopy.
Recognized as an Expert in Molecular Imaging Methods, Super-resolution Techniques, Lightsheet, Confocal Imaging and Multiphoton Microscopy with relevant publications or commensurate experience.
Five plus years experience working for ZEISS or as a ZEISS customer, ideally with experience in a headquarter function or experience in core facility management.
Extensive network within ZEISS HQ (Product Management, Development, Marketing, Customer Center) and Scientific Imaging community is beneficial.
Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Management and/or Teaching/Leadership experience is required.
